It’s a reclamation of past musical glories. While it’s certainly not going to knock Source Tags & Codes down any notches, it’s the best thing the band has done in ages. If you’ve ever liked Trail of Dead, then you’ll be able to sink your teeth into Century of Self with ease. Where both World’s Apart and So Divided failed to live up to the band’s own bloated sense of grandiosity, Century of Self provides more than enough dramatic blustering to match the artwork.
