In light of today’s Superchunk news, I had a hankering to hear “Precision Auto” off On the Mouth from 1993. The band is set to return after a loooong hiatus with the Leaves in the Gutter EP via Merge, of course, on April 7th, which will be nicely timed to coincide with the band’s appearance at this year’s Coachella festival. Then Mac and Laura have the Merge Records 20th Anniversary show this summer, which will surely feature a performance by Superchunk as well. It’s hard to fathom that Merge has been around for two decades, much less how incredibly successful it’s become. God, the 5-year anniversary show doesn’t seem all that long ago.
