Cursive’s Mama, I’m Swollen coming in March

Posted February 2nd, 2009 by eric

The new Cursive record, Mama, I’m Swollen, will be out March 10, 2009 via Saddle Creek. It’s the band’s sixth studio album and follows the sorely underrated Happy Hollow from 2006. With Cursive’s penchant for heavy-handed, thematically driven song cycles, chances are good that Mama, I’m Swollen will follow suit, though that title, as awesome as it is, doesn’t lend itself to many educated guesses as to what Tim Kasher is obsessed with this time. Pregnancy in men? Late-period Elvis? The press sheet peddles the human condition and social morality tags, so you can be sure it won’t be happy. But it wouldn’t be a Cursive record, if it were.

Tracklist:

1.    In The Now
2.    From The Hips
3.    I Couldn’t Love You
4.    Donkeys
5.    Caveman
6.    We’re Going To Hell
7.    Mama, I’m Satan
8.    Let Me Up
9.    Mama, I’m Swollen
10.    What Have I Done?
