Dave Gahan just has one of those voices that not only makes you overlook less than clever lyrics but also makes you trust that the angst he’s on about is something rightly serious. There’s not an ironic bone in his body- never has been. But what he lacks in irony he more than makes up for in bombast. And for this latest video off Hourglass, the drama’s in slow motion to boot.
