Saddle Creek records is taking over downtown Omaha, Nebraska with a 56,000 square foot facility that will feature a new 470-capacity club called Slowdown (named after the early 90’s band Slowdown Virginia, which featured Cursive’s Tim Kasher, among other current Saddle Creek artists), the new Saddle Creek offices, and an art house theater called Film Streams. With active support from the mayor of Omaha, the new Saddle Creek complex is looked upon as a potential artistic hub for the city. Says a city official, “it definitely will spur other development.”
