  Well, i like Marilyn Manson as much as the next guy.. which means i don’t like him at all. For the second guy who posted a nonreadable comment; you’re so stupid, i couldn’t even read what you were trying to say. Marilyn Manson is screwed up, and i know that he’s probably not that bad of a guy, but the way he portays himself is odd. And two say that Manson’s lyrics are “100 times better than a stupid song about a parade” is definitely an over statement, and a big one at that.

  Marilyn Manson and MCR are both great artists. No one has any right to say otherwise. So what if they disagree? It doesn’t matter if Manson claims they’re copying him–EVERYONE in the metal/alternative/punk rock genre copies everyone else.
  And as for publicity–celebrities bad-mouthing each other for publicity isn’t exactly new, people. Catfights aren’t just for party princess brats.

  Does anyone posting comments on this site have any sort of education at all? Besides the horrible spelling and grammar, the opinions are so childish. Marilyn is a law unto himself and he has earned this distinction. What about all the hair bands of the ’80s? Didn’t they borrow from one another? Marilyn has taken it a step further and deserves to be lauded. (PS – I’m a 54-year-old grandmother of 3 and I LOVE Marilyn).

  i hate marilyn manson’s music. i thought everybody loved God. i guess he does, too. But have you heard his music?? its scary. i mean if he has ballads it still might be bad. i never heard his music but i heard of it from people and they say its about worshipping the devil, so…. i’d rather not speak anymore about this.

  If you’ve never heard his music, how can you have an opinion on it?
  He doesn’t exactly ‘worship the devil’, he doesn’t believe in God and if you listen to his music the message seems to be that religion and the media and other forms of social control are bad because they try to keep people oppressed and people with power can get away with bad things because they have the veil of religion to hide behind. I think alot of Christianity is contradiction after condradiction, or at least how people interpret it is and this is what he sings about. I dont want to insult anyone who is religious at all….thats your prerogative, and this is mine….
  But what makes me laugh is that people blamed Manson after the Columbine incident because of his lyrics, yet if these teenagers drove spikes into the wrists of their victims and left them to bleed to death….would they blame the Bible, God or Jesus?? I doubt it very much…
  As for MCR, I like them but Mansons a legend thats been around for longer and is far more influential in every way…he has earnt the right to have a hissy fit at these types of bands. And I love him for it….the guy is so intelligent. Absolute legend!

  MCR has always been lame in my eyes. All of their songs seem to have a lack of meaning. And all of their fans are mearly tweens, or wanna be misfits, not being different for a reason, but mearly being different to be different.

  MCR try to be origninal and fail. I mean i watched one of their live performances (only because it was on tv) and i laughed at the little speeches Gerad made between songs. Like really. The things he said were so lame and wanna be odd. Then on another performance at the end he goes “a suprise party? for me???” as if it was some cool funny thing to say at the end of the show. Sure ive got off track but im just showing that their gay twats.

  Manson – Always has extreme depth to his work. I mean go listen to a interview about his albums, and he’ll give you a hour long reply about every last detail with each song, or to each line, what it means to him, what point he wants to give across, where as MCR go write your wanna be catchy mainstream shit lyrics. Try to copy mansons style in clothes and hair. (Anyone notice gerad went and died his hair white and cut it short as soon as shots were fired at him for copying manson?)

  No one on here seems to have any sort of an education. Marilyn Manson is a horrible artist. His lyrics are stupid and either make no sense, copy another song, or attempt to glorify hate, violence etc.
  I am not a fan of MCR either but Manson does not send any sort of ‘message’ that promotes anything good.

  I think manson is awesome. His lyrics are strong and proud. I agree he didn’t invent the appearance, but he did bring it back. And to me, that is harder to bring a fad back than to create something new. Anybody can invent a new style. But it takes skill to recreate one and make it popular again. Not only did he bring it back, he went further, improved it if you will. Mcr…nothing next to manson. And when it comes to stealing someone elses appearance, the people will ultimately decide what’s better. I have always been a fan of manson. I like a few mcr songs but the whole emo thing just strikes me as childish. I’m all for someone doing something new and as long as its well delivered and feels like it really took some effort to make, yeah in the long run it will be the better choice. Manson keep up the good work.

  Kurt Cobain is way better than MCR and MM. anyone that dresses that far out there like those goth people, are trying to crave attention from anyone that they can get. everyone that pretends or even thinks that they “hurt inside” is an idiot. Kurt Cobain had terribly painful stomach ulcers for most of his life and had to do drugs to get rid of the pain. but he didn’t have to prove it to anyone. as well as the fact that he actually has the potential to love someone. When his daughter was born he was happier than he ever was before. But in his songs he wasn’t just saying something to the people, he was proving something with them, showing them their faults. he was also a good person on the inside seeing as he stood up for helpless women that get raped by doing a support concert, and also got caught during his teens spray painting pro-homosexuality sayings on the wall of a school. bob dylan himself was saying that kurt cobain has heart and he puts in all his music. so overall Nirvana is more than Marilyn Manson could ever amount to.
