The Jesus Lizard’s David Yow returns with Qui

Posted May 22nd, 2007 by eric

David Yow singing three part harmonies? Well, I doubt it sounds like a barbershop quartet. First of all, it’s David Yow, ex-leader of The Jesus Lizard, which guarantees nothing close to normal. And, secondly, the forthcoming Qui album is on Ipecac, which also guarantees weirdness. Yow joined Qui after hanging out like a creepy old man at band practice, even though the duo has existed for seven years without him, having released Baby Kisses in 2003.

Yow said, “It just sort of organically became that I was in the band. We’d go to practice and I’d start having input. We decided, ‘Geez, it looks like we’re a three piece now.'”

Love’s Miracle comes out September 11, followed by a six-week US tour.
