Weezer camp denies curious url redirection hinting at a possible new record

Rolling Stone is reporting some weirdness with the url albumsix.com, which apparently redirects over to weezer.com. Predictably, Weezer’s publicist denies any involvement in the curious interweb shenanigans.

Rivers Cuomo left the future of the band deliberately vague after the tour supporting its fifth album, Make Believe, so that he could finish his degree at Harvard and get married.

Interscope Records registered the domain in question, which is under the same Universal Media Group umbrella as Geffen, Weezer’s label. If the band had any sense it would cut its losses and pack it in for good, since its last decent record was Pinkerton, released way back in 1996.
