I don’t know how I overlooked Poni Hoax’s debut on Tigersushi. It’s probably because it came in a slip-sleeve case, and I always lose those things. Anyway, after my rediscovery I found this “presentation” on Youtube, which gives you an idea of how suave and bizarrely cool this band is. Dark-wave disco with pretentiously monotone vocals. It’s French, unabashedly artsy, and rips off loads of Kraftwerk and P.I.L but in a completely disarming and charming way.
