Please, God, let this be an April Fool’s joke. Why, oh, why would The Cure have anything to do with Ashley Simpson? First it was an appearance on Blink-182’s final record. Ok, bad, but not hopless. Then it was a duet with Korn for its unplugged session. Worse, and pretty much unforgivable. So, now, any involvement with Ashley Simpson is way past career suicide. All those acid trips around the time of The Top are coming back to haunt Robert Smith in a bad way. There’s no way he could be lucid and making decisions like this, unless his appetite for fame has matched, well, his appetite. Someone please stick an apple in his mouth and a fork in his back before he performs on American Idol.
