Grey Egg releases Indoor Ski

Blessed with what is easily one of Columbia, South Carolina’s finest voices, Grey Egg is set to release the follow up to its preternaturally compelling No Prob! EP. No band in recent memory has carried off such archaic mythology to the point that no one is quite sure what lies behind the band’s motives, Russian accents, or constant vodka swilling. What is less mysterious, however, is the beauty of the music. Sung in a wholly invented tongue slightly akin to Elizabeth Fraser’s polysyllabic emotional bursts (with far less trilling), Grey Egg’s sound is utterly unique. The twinges of mystical folk and ethnic adornments eschew any alignment with a presupposed genre, as this music is in a class all by itself.
